Racheal Smith

Racheal Smith is Insight’s Director of Pain Management. Racheal graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration. In May 2014, she joined Insight as a front desk medical assistant in Imaging. With hard work and dedication, she quickly moved up to the neurosurgery clinic, where she was Dr. Jawad Shah’s medical assistant, and then promoted to management. Outside of work, Racheal enjoys spending time with her wonderful family, friends, and her dog Chloe.

Vincent Rampersaud

Dr. Vincent Rampersaud is an orthopedics and pain management specialist at Insight. He studied orthopedics at Wayne State University and has had extensive training in pain, spine, joint, and hand injuries. Since 2009, Dr. Rampersaud has focused on pain management in private practice. He provides a variety of medical, interventional, and surgical treatment options for patients experiencing chronic pain, as well as bone and joint injuries.

Siva K. Sripada

Dr. Siva Sripada is board-certified anesthesiology and pain management specialist at Insight. Dr. Sripada received his medical training at the University of North Texas HSC in Fort Worth, Texas. He then completed an anesthesia residency at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

After working as an anesthesiologist in the greater Dallas area, he returned to receive his subspecialty training in pain management from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Dr. Sripada has been working exclusively as a pain management specialist in southeast Michigan for over ten years. He is dedicated to providing various treatment options for his patients to help them manage chronic pain.

Corporate Chair of Pain Management

Evan Peskin

Dr. Evan Peskin is the Corporate Chair of Pain Management and a chronic pain management physician at Insight. He is currently accepting new patients at our Flint, Warren, and Dearborn locations. Before joining Insight, Dr. Peskin completed his education and training in Miami, Florida, practicing anesthesiology, perioperative medicine, and pain management at several hospital systems. During his training, Dr. Peskin also gained experience in diverse anesthesia disciplines, including neuroanesthesia, intensive care, and trauma management.

Dr. Peskin prioritizes the role of innovation and process improvement in moving the healthcare field forward. To better advocate for his patients, Dr. Peskin completed a master’s degree in health management and policy. He holds medical device patents in ten countries and was awarded an innovations grant from the Veterans Administration Innovation Center for developing peri/postoperative opioid use guidelines. While in Miami, he was also involved with the CHARIOT (Childhood Anxiety Reduction through Innovation and Technology) program.

Patient safety and quality of life are central tenets of Dr. Peskin’s practice. He prioritizes treating each patient with the same genuine care and concern that he would expect any healthcare practitioner to show his family. He also prides himself in involving the patient and their loved ones at every step of their care. Outside work, Dr. Peskin enjoys spending time with his wife Abby, startup business development, cooking, baking, soccer, racquetball, and stand-up comedy.

Sushruth Shenava

Dr. Sushruth Shenava is an anesthesiology and pain management specialist at Insight Pain Management. He has been in practice since 2011. After anesthesiology training, Dr. Shenava began focusing solely on pain management. Dr. Shenava offers a variety of procedural, behavioral, and medical options for the treatment of chronic pain, with an emphasis on improved functionality and daily living.

Khurram J. Khan

Dr. Khurram J. Khan is a pain management specialist at Insight. Dr. Khan graduated from Dow Medical College in 1999. He then finished his residency in PM&R at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, where he received the resident of the year award in 2009. Following his residency, Dr. Khan went on to complete fellowships in hospice and palliative medicine at UCSF, headache medicine, and then anesthesia pain medicine at USC. He also completed one year of training in a regenerative medicine clinic in Illinois. Dr. Khan has been practicing interventional pain medicine since 2016. He is board-certified in PM&R, HPM, brain injury, headache and orofacial pain, anesthesia pain medicine, and hospice medical director board exams.

Julie Widzinski, NP

Julie Widzinski is a board-certified nurse practitioner at Insight Pain Management. Julie earned her first bachelor’s degree in biology and sports medicine at Adrian College. She then received a bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Detroit Mercy. Julie went on to complete her master’s degree at Chamberlain University in Chicago, Illinois, graduating with honors. Julie began her career in the emergency room and then moved to the neuro/medical intensive care unit at McLaren Flint. After working at McLaren for 11 years, Julie joined Insight in June 2020.

Alyssa Doyle

Alyssa Doyle is a board-certified nurse practitioner at Insight Pain Management. Alyssa earned her bachelor’s degree from Saginaw Valley State University and worked as a registered nurse for five years in the emergency department at Hurley Medical Center, as well as a pre/post-op nurse at The Vascular Institute of Michigan. Alyssa went on to complete her master’s degree at the University of Michigan-Flint and joined Insight  in February 2021.

Joe Danko

Joe Danko is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in acute care gerontology at Insight Pain Management. Joe earned his bachelor’s degree as a registered nurse from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. He then completed his master’s degree at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan. Joe worked in the medical ICU, pre-op, and recovery room at St. John Hospital in Detroit for 11 years before joining Insight in February 2016.

Nasir Khatri

Dr. Nasir Khatri is a double board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain medicine physician at Insight. As an expert in advanced pain medicine techniques, he approaches each patient in a holistic manner, prioritizing multidisciplinary care for a healthy mind and body.

Dr. Khatri attended North Carolina State University for his undergraduate education and graduated as valedictorian. He completed his medical education at VCU School of Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the nation’s most prestigious honor society. Dr. Khatri went on to complete his residency training at UNC Chapel Hill, where he was avidly involved with research and leadership. He then completed his medical training with a fellowship in interventional pain medicine at the
University of Kansas, one of the most selective training programs in pain medicine.

Prior to joining Insight, Dr. Khatri worked with a large health system in Charlotte, NC and helped implement many advanced interventional pain procedures. Dr. Khatri is nationally renowned for his leadership roles within the field of pain medicine and is the Co-Chair of Young Innovators within the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience. He also consults for medical device companies, is a peer reviewer for medical journals, has been invited to speak at national medical conferences, and has authored several peer-reviewed medical studies and best practices guidelines.

Outside of work, Dr. Khatri enjoys spending time with his family, reading about history, running, and traveling.
